With 2021 behind us, it is a good time to look back on what we have achieved. We added lots of new features and improvements to XLReporting this year.

We want to thank you for your trust in our platform. Your ideas and dedication have made XLReporting what it is today. So keep giving your feedback, and keep talking to us.

So, without further ado, let’s review the highlights of the past year.

Models: Speed and PDF/print quality

Our biggest updates were in Models.

You can create beautiful reports and models with Models, using our free-form editor. This enables you to design and calculate as you want. Our unique spreadsheet editor gets better, stronger, and faster every year.

The spreadsheet engine, which does all the calculations, has become faster and more versatile due to many optimizations. Models can now handle large and complex calculations across multiple sheets. And models typically open in a split-second. An incredible performance for such a complex feature.

In addition, we have greatly improved exporting to PDF and printing. When you use a model as a management report or annual report, you often want to export it for an external audience. You can now export a 1:1 replica of your model to PDF or paper.

When printed, the pages are automatically numbered. You can also stamp the document with a watermark, for example when your report is still considered a concept.

Accounting firms: Manage your clients

More and more accounting firms are discovering the benefits of XLReporting. Not just for the firm’s internal reporting and planning processes, but also for their clients. The challenges of today’s world makes insight and foresight more critical than ever before, and using XLReporting, you can actively help to navigate your clients through these challenging times.

To help you, we added a completely new feature to XLReporting: Manage my Clients. This feature gives you a full overview of all your clients. You can create new clients in XLReporting, copy reports or models to clients, and manage user permissions. All in one single screen. Our customers are delighted with this feature.

XLReporting is a one-stop reporting and budgeting platform. Within one single web application, using just your browser, you can import data from your accounting system, create reports, manage budgets, and share your results. Without any external plug-ins or other software.

Formula editor: new functions

We added a lot of new functions last year.

You may recognize some functions from Excel, such as XLOOKUP and XMATCH. XLReporting has close to 200 functions that are identical to Excel, and more than 50 functions that are specific for XLReporting.

For example, the MERGE function is useful for combining text blocks with actual numbers. A frequently used function in financial statements.

Integration: new connectors

We added 2 new connectors: Airtable and Dataddo.

Airtable is an online platform for creating and sharing databases. You can use the data from Airtable, for example, contracts or projects.

Dataddo is a no-code integration platform designed to interface with any analytics and business data and deliver to any BI application. Dataddo maintains the connection and checks for data quality, such as duplicate data. Dataddo has over a hundred connections, including Hubspot, Salesforce, and Google Analytics.

We won't stop here. We are working on Twinfield and Visma HRM and Payroll. These connectors are planned for Q1 2022. Are you missing an integration? Please contact us.

Visualizations

We've added new visualizations to Reports and Models:

• Column with line
• GeoChart

These were the highlights of 2021. It was a year of non-stop releases with new features and improved functionality.
