Introduction

You will find this import in Essentials -> Update.

XLReporting will read the following information from Exact Online:

It is important to note that XLReporting will never write data to your Exact Online administration. The connection is strictly read-only by design.

In order to connect to Exact Online, you need valid login credentials in Exact Online with permissions to share data with other systems.

If you are getting a message such as "Data access denied: 403 Forbidden", it means that either your Exact Online login credentials are incorrect, or that you do not have the permissions in Exact Online to share data with other systems. In such a case, check your user permissions in Exact Online.

First time connection

If this is the first time you are importing from Exact Online, or if you have previously disconnected your companies, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the Connect button. A popup will appear, prompting you to log in to your Exact Online account. Enter your Exact Online credentials to proceed and choose your company (administration) in Exact Online.
  2. Select the company and click on Apply. You will be asked to give XLReporting authorization to connect with this Exact Online Company.
  3. In XLReporting, select the company and period for which you want to import the data.
  4. Once you've selected the company and period, click the Run button to start the import process.
  5. As soon as you authorized access, the import process will begin automatically. Once it has completed, you'll see a message indicating "The import has been completed."

If you don't see a popup window, check these reasons:
1. Your browser may be blocking popups. To resolve this issue, simply click the address bar to allow popups.
2. If your browser is in "full-screen" mode, it may open a separate tab instead of a popup window.

If you are already connected

If you previously have already connected to Exact Online, the process is simpler:

  1. Select the company and period and click the Run button.
  2. The import process will start immediately and once it has completed, you'll see a message indicating "The import has been completed."
  3. If you want to import another company, simply select the other company and click Run again.
